Developing Leaders of the Future in Times of Change:  The "How to" Discussion
 
As a follow up discussion from our BOLD/HRSF Workshop titled: “Developing Leaders of the Future in Times of Change”, BOLD is hosting two Roundtables Discussion Groups to discuss the “HOW TO” for developing leaders of the future. 

To lead this discussion, we have invited two speakers from our June 5th workshop, Dave Dickey, Director of Leadership Development, and Udaya Patnaik, Principal of Jump Associates.  Dave and Udaya will level set the conversation with ideas, learnings and best practices generated in the June workshop, and continue the conversation with a “How to”
discussion.        

These BOLD Roundtable discussions have been designed to facilitate engaged, thoughtful conversations and share best practices. Regardless of your organization’s size or industry, BOLD and HRSF members, and their guests, are welcome to attend these highly interactive discussions.

To lead this discussion in South San Francisco, we have invited one of the speakers from our June 5^th workshop, Glenda Valero de Silano, Manager of Leadership Development of Global Workforce Development for Chevron Corporation.  Glenda will level set the conversation with ideas, learnings and best practices generated in the June workshop, and continue the conversation with a “How to” discussion.  There will be a special emphasis on the topic of measuring the impact of leadership development, and how to engage executives.

Today, the life science industry is faced with tremendous pressures - from business model challenges to significant financial restraints - and most people are hearing that they need to do more with less. This stress can sap our physical, mental, and emotional health. We know that our bodies need rest and fuel to perform at peak levels. Yet we can’t seem to figure out how to get it.

BOLD has invited two guest speakers to discuss how innovative companies are using a culture of wellness to sustain smart performance and generate higher levels of engagement.

Jessica Amortegui, Director of Global Talent Development at VMware, and Stacey Porter, Director of Talent Development at Intuitive Surgical, have designed a dynamic presentation that will include the following topics:

• Improving organizational resilience and capacity building by leveraging a well-being culture
• Engaging top performers through a focus on health
• The scientific grounding for well-being that is captivating the attention of senior leaders
• Team and organization ‘rituals’  that provide a self-sustaining mechanisms for renewal
• Case studies and best practices from VMWare, a global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure solutions.
