BOLD was born November of 2003 out of the desire to develop and inspire a community of professionals to deliver excellence and innovation through organization effectiveness in the Life Sciences Industry. We realized that L&D professionals could leverage their learning and impact the human side of the science business. Prior to January of 2008, we were an informal volunteer organization that offered lunch meetings six times a year featuring local experts and experienced HR and OD professional presentations, panels and discussion groups. Twice a year, January and July, we co-hosted HR Mixers with the three biotech HR groups in the Bay Area (SHRG, BHRN and BOLD). This tradition continues, although now we kick off our Mentorship Program at each of these events as well.
