Over 5 years ago the Biotech Organization Learning and Development (BOLD) Group began as a group of learning and development professionals in the biotech industry interested in networking and learning industry best practices. We talked about how we saw a lot of waste and dissatisfaction in organizations - ineffective communications, challenges implementing organizational changes, and loss of quality talent to name a few. We knew there was so much more poossible - and we realized as Human Resource and Organization Development professionals that not only did we have a role, but a responsibility to make a difference.
Over the years the BOLD group has grown and evolved. We are now a 220-person group representing over 80 companies, and we want to have more of an impact growing leaders and improving organizational effectiveness, so we're taking the next steps.
growBOLD is the next generation of BOLD, designed to further meet member’s needs and make a bigger difference. We have added value to the organization by adding programs that will help HR professionals develop themselves, and access resources at any time through a password protected section of this growBOLD website.
In 2008, we have:
- Expanded our mentorship program
- Updated and added to the growBOLD website
- Grown our list of resources, links, articles, etc.
- Offered a half-day workshop
- Included external consultants with skills/talents that will contribute to members and programs
Our Mission and Vision continues to guide us in this process:
Mission: BOLD provides opportunities for HR/OD professionals in the biotech industry to network with peers, provide mentorship, share knowledge, best practices and resources. Our primary objective is to develop strategic solutions for improving performance and efficiency within organizations.
Vision: To develop and inspire a community of professionals to deliver excellence and innovation through organization effectiveness in the biotech industry.
